Antifrogen is range of Heat Transfer Fluids specially formulated for refrigeration, cooling heating and leak detection applications. They have preferred over conventional coolants / heat transfer fluids due to their long life and superior corrosion resistance. Antifrogen® N is a liquid, tinted pale yellow, for use as a heat transfer medium in closed hot water heating systems, heat pumps and as cooling brine in industrial refrigeration equipment.
Antifrogen® N was developed for use as a heat transfer and refrigerating medium. Its antifreeze action is based on monoethylene glycol, which with its high boiling point of about 198 °C prevents loss by evaporation.
The frost resistance of the mixture does not change even after many years use, provided the Antifrogen® N concentration remains constant. Furthermore phase separation of Antifrogen® N/water mixtures does not occur.
Antifrogen® L is a clear liquid, tinted blue, for use as a heat transfer medium in heat pump systems and in the food industry, e.g. in breweries, dairies, ice-cream factories, cold stores and fish processing factories.
Antifrogen® L fulfills a dual function as a heat transfer medium. It ensures that the aqueous solution remains liquid at the required brine temperature and protects any metal components in the refrigeration system from corrosion. Its antifreeze action is based on monopropylene glycol, which with its high boiling point of about 187 °C prevents loss by evaporation.
Antifrogen® L can be described by the usual classification as toxicologically harmless.
Antifrogen L is used as a heat transfer medium in heat recovery systems and in the food and pharmaceutical sector or where the possibility of the heat transfer medium entering process water or hot water cannot be excluded.
Antifrogen® SOL HT
Antifrogen® SOL HT is a physiologically harmless, yellowish, clear liquid based on an aqueous solution of higher boiling glycols, which is used as a heat transfer medium in solar heating systems, also those exposed to high thermal loads. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrites-, borates-, silicates- and phosphates. It meets the requirements of DIN 4757, part 3, for solar heating systems.
Based on higher boiling glycols plus anti-corrosion additives
Permanent usage temperatures: approx. -23 to +200 °C
Premixed with deionized water (frost resistance: approx. -23 °C)
Typical applications: Solar heating systems, even highly stressed collectors with vacuum tubes resp. solar heating systems exposed to high thermal loads
Antifrogen KF is a non-toxic clear liquid, based on an aqueous formate solution which is used as a low-temperature brine down to -50 °C in industrial and food refrigeration systems.
Antifrogen KF fulfills a dual function as a refrigerating medium. It ensures that the aqueous solution remains liquid at the required brine temperature and protects the metals in the system from corrosion.
The freezing point of the undiluted brine is about -53 °C, and the brine has a strong tendency to supercool. Supersaturated solutions can however be induced to crystallize out by inoculation.
It must not be mixed with other brines, especially with chloride brines but also with glycol brines (e.g. Antifrogen N or L).
Antifrogen SOL CLEAN
Antifrogen SOL Clean is a physiological harmless colorless clear fluid based on glycol ethers. Antifrogen SOL Clean is used as a cleaning agent for solar thermal systems. The product is free of nitrites-, amines-, borates-, silicates- and phosphates.
